Fact of the Day
Malleable metals have an atomic structure that is capable of being pressed quite thin without comming close to being brittle. Gold leaf is an example of already hammered out metal. To understand just how remarkable this can be, picture a gold cube of about 2.5 inch sides. This cube can be hammered into a sheet that could cover an entire football field.
