Fact of the Day More Information Some of the stones are aligned into the shapes of constellations. They range in size from 6 feet to only 6 centimeters in diameter.
People have found these stones as far away as Bosnia. Since the stones now lie all around the country of Costa Rica, I believe that the ones found in Europe were most likely brought over in recent times.
No artifacts or remains from humans were found around these spheres. This had led many people to again jump to the aliens theory. And of course it was the aliens that put the rocks half way across the planet.
The origin is still unknown.
They were discovered in the 1930s by farmers looking to use the land for a banana plantation. The remarkable thing is that some weigh up to about 16 tons. Making them would be difficult, but rolling them would not.
